Winter is officially arrived at the farm

This week the weather has turned very cold we are dropping into the lower 20’s range at night and only getting up into the 40’s during the day. Some of the water lines have frozen and busted. We are trying to keep the animals as warm as we can, they don’t seam to be having any trouble. The ducks still go and take there daily swim in the pond no matter how cold it is, as long as the pond does not freeze over. (so far that has not happened) The cows enjoy laying out in the sun to help keep them warm, they sure look funny when they just lay over on there side and sleep. The chickens just huddle together on there roosting bars in the barn and don’t hesitate to come down off their roost to get some feed when it is time to eat.

Now is the time for a good old pot roast to help keep you warm. Order one on line and check out the pot roast recipe on the recipe page on our web site.
